I VERI TESORI SONO DENTRO LE BUCHE: LA COLTURA DELLA VITE AD ALBERELLO DI PANTELLERIA
Quando si tiene tra le mani un acino di Zibibbo l’unico pensiero che si ha è quello di mangiarlo per poterne assaggiare il suo sapore unico, non si pensa, e in molti non lo sanno, che quel sapore è frutto dell’ingegno dell’uomo per adattarsi ad una natura che a prima vista pare inospitale.
La pratica agricola della vite ad alberello di Pantelleria è la prima tecnica agricola ad essere dichiarata patrimonio immateriale dell’umanità dall’UNESCO.
I contadini di Pantelleria infatti per contrastare il vento dell’isola e l’aridità dei terreni per coltivare la vite scavano delle buche di circa 20 cm dentro le quali fanno crescere la pianta, riparata dal vento e dentro una conca per poter sfruttare al massimo l’umidità del terreno. Questo tipo di coltivazione richiede 3 volte più ore di lavoro rispetto alle altre colture.
Un riconoscimento importante non solo perchè riconosce un ruolo ed un valore al mondo e alle tecniche relative al mondo agricolo, ma anche perchè premia i sacrifici di quegli uomini che ogni giorno affrontano le difficoltà di una natura a volte inospitale per donarci dei prodotti unici, in questo caso lo Zibibbo.

When you have in your hand a grape of Zibibbo the only thought is to eat it for its unique flavour, you don’t think, and in many don’t know, that is the result of man talent to adapte it to a nature that appears inhospitable.
The agricoltural technical of the grapevine as a little tree of Pantelleria is the first to be declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity from UNESCO.
Pantelleria’s farmer to win the strong winds and the aridity of the ground grow the grapevine in holes of about 20cm sheltered from the wind and make the most of soil moisture. This kind of farming is 3 times more hours of works than other farming.
An important recognition not only because recognizes a role and value to the world and technices related to agriculture, but also because it honors the sacrifices of those men who daily face the difficulties fo nature sometimes inhospitable to give us the unique products, in this case Zibibbo.
